Once again, to start off this wonderful day (the day after Christmas which by the way I celebrated with Manoj at a Chinese Buffet Restaurant in Holly Hill, Florida), I thought that I might post this awesome quote.
Now we gotta make the best of it, improvise, adapt to the environment, Darwin, shit happens, I Ching, whatever man, we gotta roll with it. -Vincent (Tom Cruise, Collateral 2004)
I've just been reliving this only because of the recent events. The whole month of December just kind of blew right through. I started out in Luxembourg in late November, then to San Diego, then to Fort Lauderdale, back to Palm Coast, then back down to Fort Lauderdale for the final move, & now here (Palm Coast.) Where to next?
My pokemon bring all the nerds to the yard, and they're like you wanna trade cards? Darn right, I wanna trade cards, I'll trade this but not my charizard.
An F2 Tornado cut through Daytona Beach this afternoon just leaving a bunch of debris at the same time taking 50 out of the 65 aircraft that laid in its path along for a quick flight up and down the flight line. It's quite sad to see this happen especially being that it wasn't due to a hurricane (none came this year thankfully) but rather a strange weather phenomena. It's going to be a rough 2nd semester at the Main Campus. Check out these pictures below.
Well, looks like tonight is the last night in Southern Florida. Goodbye crazy drivers of America! Make sure to keep on taking a look at the trelijah blog as I've been upping some pix lately.
So, as I was reading my daily tech news, I stumbled up the new jawbone bluetooth headset from aliph. I know that some of this was posted 4 days ago and in tech news that's like so last year's news, but you have to watch the video that they have on their site regarding its functionality. It was also uploaded to YouTube and its just down below for you peeps.
There are also multiple sites that talk about the new toy such as i4u to engadget. I found another website called bluetomorrow (link provided by engadget) which has a great write up on the device. It's getting great reviews and I just can't wait to try it out. I must get my hands on one of these. What do you guys think of it? Look below for explanation of the title.
You might be wondering why I titled this entry "Google Maps and It's Wonders" huh? Well, me being my obsessive compulsive self decided to see if I could locate one around my area. They are only currently being sold through Cingular Wireless Stores around the country so I located a few on Google Maps and I found a new feature! When I clicked on the red balloon it had the regular fields of drive to, etc but then I saw that it had a "call for free" dialogue box. Further more, it was a feature that would call you number that you specify and then call the other line once you pick up. You don't even have to dial the number manually anymore...it just works! How awesome is that?!
Alright...well, I didn't actually buy anything yet because I'm waiting for a couple of funds from the 'rents and from the last job that I had. I can't believe that when my recurrency class is over, I'm going to immediately get into more debt. I can't wait to be an FO making the huge bucks! No one ever believes me when they actually realize that pilots don't make the hundreds like they use to in the golden days of flying. Here is a flight bag that I would like to have: It's a Scott's Leather Bag 8" which also is suppose to handle the wear and tear of multiple in and out situations! =)
Here is the carry-on luggage that is suppose to withstand the test of baggage handlers: Purdy Neat Stop-Over Stealth 22". You like the sauce?
After waking up early today (around 7:30 AM), I started to get really groggy and tired after doing a whole lot of just busy random work. I couldn't figure out why, but I guess it has been a really busy last two weeks. This week is only going to become a little more hectic with the move back to Daytona Beach. I remembered drinking two cans of Coke Zero last night and downing a bunch of lemon heads for a late night snack. I then stumbled onto these interesting articles. These two articles are quite interesting to those who not only drink soda but consume a lot of coffee. Makes it seem like wine is probably a lot better than any of these beverages. Check them out!
I have been sprinting to the finish line for the last two weeks cramming everything that I have learned over the last 2 years for an interview that would result in life changing events. Late night study sessions, application parties, and then multiple sim sessions in the Frasca and MD90; all this for a chance to finally fly instead of be taken advantage by "some other brand."(oh yeah I did...)
For those that have not been following along the last few months, I have lived in Fort Lauderdale, lived in Luxembourg, was homeless for a couple of days, wound up back to where I started, and survived an interview with some well accomplished pilots and a sim check that I was dreading from the first time I heard that it would be in the same simulator that I took my type ride in almost 8.5 months ago!
It was a great experience and I'm ready to finally settle back down and relax. Of course, only for a little bit as there is way too much to take care of in such little time. I wish that I could come home for the holidays, but I haven't been left with much a choice.
I'm finally starting to finish up the final layout to this blog. I'm sorry that I keep on starting new ones, but I thought that it would be a good way of keeping different chapters in my life separate. We'll see if I like this one, but who knows...I might just start a whole other website / domain all together. stay tuned ^_^
updates: links now contain a few from the past blogs with more to come...
this is seriously a bit harder and more time consuming than that I thought it would be. it is definitely taking a load off my mind being preoccupied with this little or rather daunting challenge of design.
i'll be back into studying and writing more on the off days, but until i really get situated, it'll be a while.
