Hey Eejay! Thanks for writing up this blog post! During the last hour of editing that day, I pretty much zoned everyone/everything out – also trying to be inconspicuous. I didn’t even know anyone noticed me back there.

BIG thank you to everyone for taking the time to watch this clip and leaving the nice comments! It’s very inspiring for us!

Brian, the tracking shots were done using a Glidetrack by Alastair Brown. In order to achieve those first and last shots with the ring, it’s necessary to have something like the Glidetrack, especially when using a Macro lens. The sweeping camera moves were done using a Steadicam Merlin – although I do plan on upgrading to the Glidecam 4000 soon (cheaper than the Merlin too). DM if you have any questions.

Camera specs: Canon 5D MkII, 17-35mm f/2.8-4, 50mm f/1.4, 90mm f/2.8 Macro

From one videographer to another…can anyone at Starcross’d tell me what you guys are using to stabilize your moving shots? They look incredible and I’m just curious what solution you guys are using to achieve such smooth moving shots.

Wow. So awesome. I spent a whole day looking at the concepts and there were a bunch of tear jerkers. Starcross’d is really creative. I’m actually inspired to shoot more weddings now to pay for a 5d MkII. I think i’ll build my own Merlin Steadicam and Glide track though. Great scoop EJ!

Wow. Such a cool wedding and definitely adds to the excitement of the day. I know from just getting married that if there is one thing you don’t want to skimp on it is the pictures and video. I really think that they got this one right!
