Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey hired [Opperman Weiss][4], a New York ad agency, to create this beautiful commercial featuring the Irish folk song, "A Parting Glass." Directed by Laurence Dunmore of RSA Films and cut by editor Andre Betz of Bug Editorial, here it is in all it's glory. This has to be one of the greatest commercials ever. WOW!
A short film for Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey finds four young gents winding their way across a grassy hillside on a rainy day, suited up in their finest clothes. The mates end their journey sitting on a stone wall facing a graveyard by a chapel, drinking whiskey and singing the classic Irish folk song “A Parting Glass” in the rain in honor of a friend they are about to say goodbye to.

NPR photographer David Gilkey has photographed in extreme situations — from the surge in Afghanistan, to bombings in Gaza, to the tsunami in Japan, but he says nothing could have prepared him for what he saw in the village of Barangay 68 in Tacloban City, Philippines.
At first glance, there were no signs of life. You know many have died here and that their bodies are somewhere close. There is a heavy, unmistakable smell of death.

Growing up around an amazing nurse, I remember stories my mother telling me of patients who were a "hard stick" but most of them were about how she had special skills (rigorous training in the Philippines) to get it done in one poke. When we would find ourselves at the doctors' office or hospital, she would be angered and mostly aggravated if the nurses would end up poking us multiple times causing severe bruising and inducing pain. Now with Evena Medical's new "Eyes-On" smart medical glasses, "x-ray vision" will help with just that. No more multiple stabs when getting blood drawn or an IV inserted which I'm sure some of you will be more than relieved. I know that my mom will have less of an issue when she watches her kids get poked multiple times by newbies. No offense to new nurses of course. =)

With the Ghost platform recently launched and proving to be a viable medium for easy publishing and a clean writing style, it comes as no surprise that Wordpress finally supports writing in Markdown. For those that are unfamiliar with the style, here's the definitely from creator John Gruber.
Markdown is a text-to-HTML conversion tool for web writers. Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then convert it to structurally valid XHTML (or HTML).
I've been learning how to write in Markdown and have installed awesome plugins for support in my Wordpress site such as Markdown on Save Improved and WP-Footnotes. Of course with this launching, I suppose I can turn these off now but I still have yet to find where to "activate" the setting.
